It was a Monday morning in mid-June that I prepared for my first trip with Wolfman. We needed to get an early start and I pulled out one of my largest suitcases, hastily packing what I thought I might need for a couple weeks. Wolfman walked into the room and laughed, letting me know that there was no room nor any need for me to bring most of what I was packing. He went to closest and picked out smallest bag and said, "Bring only what you can fit in here." Wolf then walked to the nightstand by my side of our bed, pulled out the bag I keep there and tossed it to me. "Save space for this. And don't forget to pack extra batteries."
We drove to the depot and I got my first real look at my new home away from home. Wolf left me to settle in (not that there was much to settle) while he took care of the necessary paperwork and talked to the dispatcher. It was rather tight and cramped in the cab but since the point was to be together, this would pretty much ensure togetherness. My excitement over this adventure was growing.
